This California state park is located in the south bay, along the Santa Cruz mountains. Its sandstone rock formations and forested trails make for a pleasant, distinctive hiking experience. The trail can be somewhat steep at times, especially on the approach to Castle Rock itself, but is not too strenuous on the whole--good for a weekend family outing.
